"Budget cuts. Vendors drastically increasing prices. Betting big on technology that doesn't work. Discontinuation of critical software/hardware. Exceeding capacity. Huge piles of grant money have to be spent immediately. Security compromises. Politics. Natural disasters. Crazy mandates. More budget cuts. These are all things we had to deal with 30 years ago. And 25 years ago, and 20 years ago, and 15 years ago.... and these will all probably be ACPE topics 30 years in the future.
Our job is to not panic and figure out how to keep the ship afloat. Discussing how we have done this in past cycles may be therapeutic for those who have been around for a while, instructive to those who are new to this game. Not only have we survived but have often thrived in the face of adversity."
