Dr. Ellen Dorr serves as the Chief of Technology and Strategic Initiatives for the Renton School District, where she oversees Technology Services (customer service, infrastructure, and digital learning) and supports the strategic efforts of the district. She leads the team to provide the resources and supports to empower educators to create inclusive, equitable instruction in classrooms as well as increase efficiency and effectiveness across the district.
Previously, she served as the Director of Digital Learning for RSD and Learning Technology Manager for Highline Public Schools, helping to create technology plans and support student learning. She spent over a decade as a classroom teacher, mainly at middle school, developing a strong commitment to educational equity and system design as well as a deep love for students and their families.
She has her doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies through the Leadership for Learning program at the University of Washington, which is focused on equity-focused leadership and transformation of educational systems to realize ambitious learning goals for all students.
